Dentures are one of the oldest dental treatments and they are still a popular way to replace missing teeth, especially multiple missing teeth. Unlike their historical counterparts, modern dentures are designed to look, feel, and fit naturally. We provide two types of dentures, depending on your individual needs.
Types of Dentures
Full dentures are used to replace all the teeth in an arch or row. We provide “immediate” full dentures that are used right after your teeth are extracted. These dentures are designed to restore your teeth while your mouth heals from the extractions. Conventional dentures are used if you’ve been missing teeth for some time or after your mouth has healed from having teeth extracted. They are permanent dentures that are designed to fit the contours of your mouth.
Partial dentures are used to replace one or a few missing teeth. Unlike full dentures they can be attached to your remaining natural teeth, or sometimes we may place crowns to provide an anchor.
Relining
Dentures will occasionally need to be relined as the shape and structure of your mouth changes as you age. You should have your dentures checked annually to ensure they’re in good shape and to make any necessary adjustments.
